Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege was released on December 1, 2015, worldwide for Microsoft Windows, Playstation 4, and Xbox One. It is an FPS and it was developed by Ubisoft who makes many other series such as Assassin’s Creed The Division, Far Cry, and Just Dance.
This game has very good graphics, tons of new content releasing, a non-toxic gaming community and a consistent amount of players always playing which makes up for short wait times when queuing for a match. There are currently 50 million active people playing the game across the world. There are different types of game modes including hostage, bomb, and secure the area and two different match styles ranked, and casual. The game is heavily based on communication as the game genre is strategic and a tactical shooter.
There are many maps within each game mode, ranked and casual. Often every two and a half months two new operators are released, a new map is released or a re-word of an old map is renewed. In a couple of weeks, new content called Shifting Tides will be released with two operators and a new map. New content added to the game every so often draws more people to the game, keeping older players playing.
Many games don’t stay popular for so long such as Call of Duty where a new one is released each year. Rainbow Six Siege and Call of Duty may be FPS but the style of play is entirely different making it one of its own. Call of Duty is a more aggressive playstyle while Rainbow Six Siege is based on team communication, holding strong peaks against the enemy, having good knowledge of the game and good movement making it harder for the enemy target to damage you or your teammate.
Overall, Rainbow Six Siege is a very fun game that does not get boring, it is always releasing amazing content, drawing new people to the game as well as keeping the gaming community playing.
